4 Natural Remedies to Normalize Cholesterol Levels

Medical research has concluded that when good cholesterol (LDL) levels drop and bad cholesterol (HDL) increase, this can create inflammation in the cardiovascular system.

That’s when problems occur – and has been attributed to being the real cause of heart disease.

However, there are natural remedies that can offset this and here are 4 of them:

#1: Niacin

Also known as Vitamin B3, trying this cure can lower LDL cholesterol levels by 10% while increasing HDL cholesterol levels by 15 to 30%. Unfortunately, with a number of side effects, it’s important to try this remedy under the supervision of a doctor.

#2: Green Tea

Green tea has a number of compounds that lowers LDL cholesterol levels. In fact, a study in Brazil found that people who took green tea extract in capsule form lowered their LDL cholesterol levels by 4.5%.

#3: Red Yeast Rice

It’s been found that Chinese red yeast rice has been known to balance cholesterol levels. This is because of the presence of substances known as monacolins. Alternatively, some of these monacolins when extracted and used for the creation of statin drugs causes kidney and muscle injuries. It is for this reason that these supplements have been banned in the United States.

#4: Soluble Fiber

A number of foods high in soluble fiber such as oats, prunes, apples, carrots, broccoli, yams and legumes have been known to deter the absorption of cholesterol in the intestines. Consuming 5 to ten grams of soluble fiber can reduce LDL cholesterol by 5 percent.
