What is a Good Eczema Natural Remedy?

What is a Good Eczema Natural Remedy?

Article by Hal Hendricks

A good eczema natural remedy is one that works for you. That sounds very glib, but it is quite true. There are literally hundreds of natural remedies, ranging from expensive over-the-counter lotions to home remedies using ingredients found around the house. It is easy to get overwhelmed by the sheer number of remedies available to you. The bad news is many of them won’t give you the relief you seek. The good news is that there probably isn’t just one “silver bullet” remedy that will work for you; there are likely many. It’s just a matter of sifting through them to find the ones that work for you.

If you decide to choose an over-the-counter natural remedy, be careful that it is in fact natural. Some companies play fast and loose with what they think “natural” ingredients are. Natural ingredients come from nature, such as flowers, herbs, and essential oils. If an ingredient is produced in a lab, then it isn’t a natural ingredient. There are a couple of rules of thumb that work well when looking at product ingredients. Generally, if an ingredient’s name is long and virtually unpronounceable then it’s probably a synthetically produced chemical. Second, the fewer the ingredients the better. A good natural product doesn’t have to have thirty ingredients in it to be effective.

Home natural eczema remedies range from oatmeal baths to warm water wraps to coconut oil poultices. There are so many remedies because each person is different and what works for one may not work as well for another. You can truly customize your remedy this way. And it doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. One really good natural remedy is water and that costs very little. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and you will likely moderate your symptoms.

Whatever way you choose, make sure you aren’t allergic to any of the ingredients. Peanut oil can be very soothing, for example, but if you’re allergic to peanuts you’ll probably make your symptoms worse. This is less of a worry with homemade natural remedies than with over-the-counter preparations, so read those ingredient lists carefully.

There is a lot of help available for you. It may take some time to find the right one, but with a little time and patience you will find an eczema natural remedy that is perfect for you.
